It is funny how we were taught how to dance and behave properly, but no one ever taught us some of the more practical necessities. I've gone out on a limb with saying 'we' since really I meant 'I was taught' since I don't know what everyone else's parents taught them.

I'm rambling. How is everything and everyone?

How are you, mate? I know you said not to worry, but have you gotten anything else anonymously?

Does anyone else get the feeling that he's completely out of every group in the entire world? I admit I've been a bit behind in picking this journal up and I apologise profusely. Still, it is brill to see so many of my classmates writing. If you don't know who I am, my name is Ernie MacMillan. I'm a 4th year Hufflepuff and extremely pleased to be part of that House. I do hope I get prefect next year so that I may give back to Hogwarts in some small way. Dad always said this place was brilliant, but I was so nervous that first day! Does everyone else remember that sorting? I laugh at myself for being so nervous now!

Anyway, I have some assignments to get ahead on. I hope everyone had a great day!
